Introducing the new webexapis.com
May 12, 2020

We are pleased to announce that the Webex REST API has a brand new host name: webexapis.com.
Over the past few years we’ve seen an explosion in the number of applications using the Webex REST API to create applications with messaging and other Webex functionality. But the Webex API gives you access to much more than that. You can now manage Webex Devices with xAPI and soon you’ll be able to manage Webex Meetings.
Starting today, you can now use a new host name (https://webexapis.com) to access the API. Each API resource and endpoint available at the old host name (https://api.ciscospark.com) is available at the same URL path. For example, instead of sending requests to Create a Message to https://api.ciscospark.com/v1/messages, use https://webexapis.com/v1/messages instead.
Your current applications continue to function with the old host name as they always have, and https://api.ciscospark.com will continue to function for some time. In the future, new API resources and endpoints will only be released to the new host name, so be sure to start using the new host name as soon as you can. Stay tuned to our Blog and the API Changelog for new product announcements and any API deprecation notices related to https://api.ciscospark.com. We'll provide information about the deprecation timeline for the old host name in the future.
If you have any questions about this change, please don't hesitate to contact Webex Developer Support.
