Incorporate Cisco WebEx meetings into your applications using the WebEx Meeting Services API Platform. Give users the ability to start web-based meetings from within your applications. These APIs provide access to each WebEx application-level service, and to underlying core capabilities that include user administration, telephony integration, scheduling, single sign-on, and usage reporting.
The WebEx Meeting Services API Platform works interactively using distinct integration mechanisms and APIs. This development platform offers three distinct APIs:
URL API: The URL API is a convenient, lightweight, HTTP(S)-based mechanism that provides browser-based, external hooks into WebEx meeting services. The URL API is typically used in enterprise portal integrations to support basic interactions such as Single Sign-On (SSO), scheduling meetings, starting and joining simple meetings, and inviting attendees and presenters.
XML API: The XML API is a comprehensive set of services that supports most aspects of WebEx meeting services, including detailed user management, comprehensive scheduling features, attendee management and reporting, and more. The WebEx XML API employs a services oriented architecture (SOA) to provide comprehensive services to external applications wishing to interact with one or more WebEx services.
Teleconference Service Provider (TSP) API: The TSP API provides full-featured XML-based integration with audio conferencing networks. The integration architecture supports redundancy, fail-over, and load balancing, and provides robust features that tightly integrate audio conferencing capabilities with telephony management and provisioning in the WebEx environment.
NBR API: WebEx Network Based Recording (NBR) Web Services API provides programmatic access to WebEx meeting recordings and session transcripts.

Cisco enables developers to leverage many of the services available in the WebEx Collaboration Cloud. The following information is available:
Cisco Cloud Collaboration Platform Services (CCCPS) Reference Guide: Describes the overall Connect Platform, the Server API with request and response examples, a detailed description of the CPS extensible object model, and the principles and procedures of the CPS policy model for access control.
DMS Reference Guide: Provides in depth information on the capabilities of the Document Management Service.
Extensibility Tech note: Applications can securely extend the data model in a private namespace. This allows the developer to store and manage custom data associated with the customer organization, individual users, and other objects in the system. Existing Connect objects can be extended by adding custom fields, and entirely new and independent objects can be defined as needed.
The Cisco AJAX XMPP Library is an API designed to simplify and accelerate the development of client applications. The client library provides a jump start for developers writing Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) enabled web applications or clients from scratch. The library is ideal for companies looking to leverage the Cisco WebEx Collaboration Cloud and integrate presence and messaging into their own custom web-based applications and/or portals.
For more information, or to download the library, go to the XMPP library portal.
